Kiren is a Solicitor and has specialised exclusively in Family Law since qualifying in 2002. She previously practiced in the south at a regional ‘legal 100’ firm before moving to Yorkshire in 2007.Kiren is a member of Resolution First for Family Law and also a trained collaborative lawyer.
She is committed to resolving family disputes in a non-confrontational way and as a member of Resolution First For Family Law is bound to adhere to their code of conduct. Aside from the obvious legal knowledge required when advising she is known amongst her clients for her practical and pragmatic approach.
She ensures clients are informed of all options available to them as to the manner in which they go about unravelling very difficult issues and making crucial decisions about their family’s future, be that the more traditional route of negotiation through solicitors or Court proceedings, Mediation or Collaborative Family Law.
Kiren advises on divorce and separation, the financial implications of relationship break down (both in a situation where parties are married or in a civil partnership and those that have been cohabiting) and children issues. In terms of the financial implications of relationship breakdown Kiren has a wealth of experience in dealing with a multitude of family cases from the more complex, high monetary value cases with an international element to those with very limited financial assets.
She has considerable experience in children cases including applications for Child Arrangement Orders on behalf of a parent and grandparents, Surrogacy including International Surrogacy and also advises clients on claims for financial provision for the benefit of children. Kiren deals with the preparation of and advises in relation to relationship agreements such pre-nuptial agreements, pre-civil partnership agreements and living together agreements.
Kiren speaks fluent Hindi and Punjabi and is able to converse and advise client in either of these languages.
